Wes Schweitzer was the 6th and final local draft prospect selected on Saturday, going in the 6th round (195 overall) to the Atlanta Falcons. Schweitzer played his high school ball at Chaparral, and becomes the second Firebird in three years to be selected in the draft (Taylor Lewan).

Schweitzer started for the better part of three years at San Jose State, and received several honors for his academic success. Schweitzer will join Sabino's Brooks Reed and Notre Dame's Sean Renfree as Atlanta's trio of Arizona prep prospect on the roster.
